Spacelink Learning Foundation
Reaching for the stars: new Spacelink.org website is an inspiring learning resource

Deliverables

  • Bespoke WordPress website
  • Refreshed look and feel
  • Private content log in
  • Optimised hosting
  • Google Hangouts integration

Overview of the project

Preface Studios was approached by the founder of spacelink.org, an education platform to help children learn and get inspired by space. The old site was dated, text-heavy, built in Drupal and was overly complicated and difficult to navigate – a refresh to support a rebrand was needed. Preface Studios built a WordPress website and refreshed the brand to make it visually exciting and appealing to a younger audience and teachers.

Optimised hosting ensures the site is quick to download and we created a facility to make resources available to teachers. The video library was reorganised and we sourced stock imagery and added content from the old system. Helen Sharman, the first Briton in space and the first woman to visit the Mir space station in 1991, created a homepage video to improve engagement. Functionality for Google Hangouts and events with Helen Sharman were incorporated.

“Preface Studios gave us an outstanding service. They came up with creative, attractive and innovative solutions for our new-look website and stuck with us all the way. We can highly recommend them – and they are a very nice team to work with.”

How we can help you

The site works much harder for visitors and the private content log-in incorporates inspiring class materials that can be quickly downloaded. The final website is being well used by students and teachers alike. If you would like to talk to us about rebuilding a clunky and dated website, please get in touch.
