Overview of the project

Swarme is a new business start-up with an innovative model for bringing carers to the care sector. The brainchild of experienced mental health and HR professionals with first-hand experience of carer resourcing inefficiencies, Swarme addresses incentive issues, introduces individuality and enables organisations to select the right carer for their requirements.

Preface Studios was involved from the outset – with the idea and a blank sheet of paper! We were briefed to plan, design and build the entire recruitment system and test ready for launch. This is a massive system that needed to work smoothly and reliably from the start. It enables candidates to upload certificates and proof of ID, set an hourly rate for different types of skills and location radius. Staff are then selected by care homes based on their past track record; the better they are, the more they will earn.

All payments are handled by the system (SAGE pay) and carers are paid within 24 hours of their shift. Bespoke online training allows anyone with an interest in caring to receive free online training and basic certification.
