Mobile sites to get Google boost
Mobile sites to get Google boost
Google are set to make some big changes to their all conquering search algorithms. From April 21st, mobile-friendly websites will become even more important; they will rank higher and have better visibility in mobile searches.
“This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

What does it mean?
It’s not yet clear how dramatic an effect these changes will have on mobile search results. However, as the number of people using mobile devices to browse the web increases, mobile-friendly websites are becoming more and more important.
If you have a mobile-friendly website the changes will likely result in a boost for your site from the end of April 2015. Unless you have any specific concerns you do not need to do anything else at this time.
How do I know if my website is mobile-friendly?
If we built your website after August 2012 it’s likely to be mobile-friendly. However, if you are unsure you can use Googles ‘Mobile-Friendly Test’. Simply enter your URL and click ‘analyze’ to find out.
Mobile-friendly approach
Our websites are created using a process called ‘mobile first’. It’s as simple as it sounds; we build for mobiles first and scale up to larger devices. Why is this important? Speed and ease of use. Building a website and then scaling it down for mobile afterwards is like moving from a house and squashing all your belongings into a flat!
