Overview of the project

Having previously updated and rebuilt a website for global supply chain and logistics organisation, Allport Cargo Services, back in 2012 it was time for an update. The website is used globally and required a complete overhaul and an improved mobile experience. To begin, we ran information architecture workshops with key stakeholders to decide on a new services structure. From this work, we identified a clear, new focus on the retail supply chain had to shine through.

With the design, we made the most of crisp white space and blue colour palette and updated all photography. The CMS was simplified to enable the marketing team to add pages easily using our own page building tool and the Global Network area enables team members to easily display information. A new image crop tool resizes images for all mobile devices – even 4k screens! Our audience tracking tool was incorporated, which means ACS can track companies looking at the website and behaviour within the site. Finally, we upgraded the hosting to our super-fast London-based Google cloud servers.
